Prime Minister Modi praised Maharashtra's 'Ladki Bahin Yojana,' highlighting its popularity and impact on underprivileged women nationwide.
The Mahayuti government, including the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, launched the Ladki Bahin Yojana in June to support low-income women in Maharashtra.
The scheme provides a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500 to women aged 21-65, targeting families with an annual income of up to Rs 2.5 lakh.
– Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced plans to raise the stipend under the scheme to Rs 2,100 if the ruling coalition wins upcoming polls. –
The Mahayuti government considers the scheme a “game changer,” aiming to strengthen support for their alliance in the November 20 assembly elections.
PM Modi voiced support for the scheme at an election rally in Nashik, urging voters to back Mahayuti candidates.
Modi criticized the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, calling them the “biggest enemy” of Maharashtra’s women for opposing the scheme.
The Ladki Bahin Yojana is positioned as a vital initiative that boosts Mahayuti’s electoral influence by directly supporting women in Maharashtra.
