A weather disturbance is moving toward the Mediterranean coast. The libeccio (southwest wind) is getting stronger and is expected to turn stormy on Wednesday morning.

Strong winds were recorded last night in Balagne, Cap Corse, and parts of the central regions, and they will continue through much of the day.

Wind Speeds: Gusts of 150-180 km/h have been recorded in Balagne and Cap Corse.

Rainfall Today: Light to moderate but steady rain is falling in southern Aquitaine and along the Pyrenees.

The Pyrénées-Atlantiques, especially the Basque Country (coast and mountains), may see 50-60mm of rain, with some areas receiving up to 70mm.

There is some uncertainty in the forecast. If rainfall worsens even slightly, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques might move to an orange alert for "Rain-Floods."
